Bus registration for the 2024-2025 school year opened on Tuesday, April 2 at 8am.
The Needham Public Schools Transportation Program provides transportation services to and from school, as well as fee-based extracurricular services to student groups and Town-wide programs.
Yellow bus service is provided free of charge to Needham resident students in Grades K-6 who reside more than two (2.0) miles from school, and to Boston resident students who participate in the METCO Program. Children in Grades K-6 who live two or fewer miles from school and all children in Grades 7-12 may pay a fee to ride the school bus, annually. Financial assistance is available for families who qualify under income guidelines, and children eligible for free/reduced lunch do not pay a fee. Click these links to

Transportation also is provided to special education students PreK-12, who have transportation assigned as a related service in their Individualized Education Plan, as well as to homeless, group home and other students. Finally, the program offers an after-school late bus for middle school students as well as charter transportation for field trips and other extra-curricular events during the school day, as well as transportation to after-school athletic activities.
